End of Year Return Information

The school season will be over in just a few weeks. We hope that you have all had a wonderful year of progress on your instruments. Many students and parents have expressed their delight in beginning to learn a stringed instrument. We encourage all of you to continue your development in this art.

This letter contains information about our trade up, purchase, and return policies for our customers renting instruments for public school programs. If you plan to continue in the fall, you should keep your instrument over the summer.  Your monthly billing and payments will continue throughout the year as long as you retain your instrument.

There are many opportunities for your students to practice and improve their skills over the summer.  Summer is a wonderful time to attend orchestra camps, Suzuki institutes, and also to learn new skills through private lessons.  Students who continue to practice and play together throughout the summertime benefit significantly in the long run.

Should you be considering returning your rental over the summer, we would like to remind you of the rental credit discount that you have accumulated over the course of your rental contract. Each payment (minus protection plan and taxes) you make adds to your rental credit which can be used as a discount for up to 80% of the purchase of this instrument or another larger or more expensive instrument.  YOU MUST ELECT TO PURCHASE. Conversion of a current rental account to purchase is NOT automatic. If your instrument is returned, your rental credit will expire in 10 days. If you decide to re-rent in the fall, your credit from the previous school year would be lost. If you decide to convert to purchase, your balance need not be paid in full at the time of conversion. If you have a favorable payment history with us, you may choose from several Purchase Plans, including 4 and 12 month plans that are interest free. If the balance is paid in full, you will receive an additional 10% off the balance after your rental credit has been deducted.

If you are uncertain about your plans, please consult with your teacher before canceling your contract. You risk losing a substantial purchase discount if you return and then change your mind.  If you DO NOT plan to continue this fall, please make arrangements to return your instrument to either of our shop locations immediately following the conclusion of classes this spring. You will not be responsible for the June payment if your instrument is returned by June 10th. If your instrument was delivered to your teacher, you may return the instrument to your teacher following the procedures on the accompanying sheet.

Thanks for being wonderful customers this past year. Our best wishes for a productive summer.

(Please read instructions below carefully before printing out form)

End of Year Return Authorization Form

Students planning to continue in the fall should keep their instruments over the summer. These instructions ONLY APPLY to customers who received instruments by delivery to school and WILL NOT continue in orchestra after the end of the present school year.

1) Call 281-487-7303 or 1-800-545-4753 or email us at [email protected] to get a Return Authorization number at least TEN days in advance of the pickup date. Failure to call ahead may result in your account not being credited for the return of your instrument and additional charges. Instruments will be picked up during the last two weeks of school. We cannot schedule pickups after school is dismissed for the summer.  If your instrument is not returned by the last pickup for your school, you will need to return it to one of our locations.

2) Please mark your case using the reverse side of this instruction sheet. Completely fill out the form listed on the back.  Your account number is located on the upper right hand corner of your statement.  If you did not receive a statement, please call our store and we can provide you with the account number.  Please insert this paper as shown in the pictures on the reverse side so that “Return to Lisle Violin Shop” is visible.

3) Give your instrument DIRECTLY to your teacher with instructions to return to Lisle Violin Shop. Do NOT leave your instrument at the school office or abandon it in the classroom.
4) Remove ALL personal and accessory items from your case. Return ONLY the instrument, bow, and case.  Other items, such as music stands, shoulder rests, metronomes, polish, etc. were purchased by you and not included in your contract. If these items are not removed, we will not be able to locate them later to return to you. It is not necessary to clean your instrument. All returned instruments will be thoroughly reconditioned in our workshop. Any instruments, bows, or cases that have been abused or are in otherwise unsaleable condition will be subject to additional charges to your account.

5) Upon pickup, your account will be credited for the return and if your account is current, your balance will be cancelled and the account closed. If a balance remains due on your account, it will be immediately payable.

6) If you do not follow these instructions, you may not receive proper and timely credit for your return. We wish to make the return procedure as easy as possible for the string teachers during a very busy time of the year.
